# $OCTO

$OCTO is the OctoPeeps Discord economy currency, earned by playing, working and joining raids, and spent on NFTs. It lives in Discord only and is not an on-chain token.

**$OCTO is our Discord economy currency.** Earn it by taking part, spend it on NFTs.

### How to earn it

* Playing Discord games like Rumble Royale
* Working and claiming daily in Discord
* Joining raids and supporting the project on X

### What to spend it on

$OCTO buys NFTs from the community stock, and it can go towards custom pieces too.

### $OCTO is not $FATH

This is the part worth being clear about. $OCTO lives entirely inside Discord. It has **no contract, no blockchain, and no market** - you cannot buy it, swap it, or move it to a wallet, and there is no address to look up.

[$FATH](/utilities/fath.md) is the opposite: a real ERC-20 on Polygon with a permanently fixed supply, tradable on QuickSwap.

Think of $OCTO as server points that reward showing up, and $FATH as the token the ecosystem actually runs on.

More info on how to start earning $OCTO is in our [Discord](https://discord.gg/MfMTwyP6b9).
